An Instructor Motivates His Students To Discover More About Alcoholic Symptoms, Symptoms Of Alcoholism, And Signs Of Alcoholism

Mr. Johnson was one of the health teachers at a large rural junior high school in the far Western part of the United States. For "Alcohol Attentiveness Month" he came to a decision that he would highlight the following three topics for a class project: the symptoms of alcoholism, the signs of alcoholism, and alcoholic symptoms.

After Mr. Johnson finished the topics that would be assigned to his students, he made a decision that he would provide them with their assignment the following Wednesday morning. When "assignment day" eventually arrived, Mr. Johnson met with the students in his class, distributed some related research literature, and then told the members of his class about the topics he ultimately selected.

He then gave the members of his class a synopsis of some important signs of alcoholism and highlighted how critical it is to figure out how to associate these statistics, facts, and symptoms with the everyday circumstances of alcohol dependent individuals. He then gave the students in his class a concise articulation about the importance of learning more about alcohol addicted individuals and how they function on a daily basis.

Mr. Johnson notified the students in his class that they could center their attention on one of the three topics or research all three topics and how they are interconnected. Fundamentally this would be similar to a simple overview but done in a more comprehensive manner.

Another alternative that he offered to the members of his class was the following: decide on a topic such as alcohol dependency symptoms and signs, look into things in a more inclusive manner, and then go over three or four symptoms and signs. Mr. Johnson then discussed the fact that the same rationale applies to the other two topics, specifically, the symptoms of alcoholism and alcoholic symptoms.

The end result of their research project would be a three thousand word essay and then a ten minute oral presentation that would be presented in front of the class. As appreciation for their excellent scholarly achievement, the pupils with the top two overall grades on the essay and on the oral presentation will be invited to present the findings from their inquiry at the district chemical dependency conference during the last five days of February.

As confirmed by Mr. Johnson, since there are numerous alcohol dependency signs and symptoms to choose from, he pointed out the fact that he was not very alarmed about different students deciding upon the same symptoms and signs for their research project. Certainly, even if multiple students were to choose identical signs and symptoms, the examples that are related to each symptom or sign would undoubtedly add enough variety to avoid different students presenting identical content.

Mr. Johnson then discussed the fact that while there are many alcohol dependency signs and symptoms that could be selected, the quantity of alcohol addiction facts and statistics that could be discussed were nearly unlimited. When the topic of alcoholic symptoms was added to the discussion, additionally, the pupils grasped somewhat promptly that the three topics would provide a vast amount of data from which to select.

Why did Mr. Johnson pick the symptoms of alcoholism, alcoholic symptoms, and the signs of alcoholism as the topics for this project? Mr. Johnson thought that by increasing the awareness of his students about the debilitating effects of alcoholism and the grim existence experienced by alcohol addicted people, his students might think more sensibly before they involved themselves in abusive and irresponsible drinking behavior.
