My sister and I planned a baby shower party for 1 of our nieces. We decided to have it in the fellowship area of the community church because of the fact that it was a large guest list. We did want to have a few decorations for baby shower to give the room a celebratory air. There is a bassinet that's passed to every new mother for the baby to sleep in for the first four to 6 weeks. This cradle was my mother's. We decided that we would use the bassinet as the heart of our baby shower party decorations.

The fellowship area has large round tables that seat ten folks. We moved one table off by itself to be the presents table. We covered this table with a soft pink table cloth; our niece has learned she is having a girl. We set the cradle in the middle of the table. We decided to use our presents for the baby shower party decorations. I had purchased a pink and white infant blanket, which we hung over the side of the bassinet. We pinned several rattles and other infant toys to the blanket with diaper pins. We then displayed the little outfits that my sister had purchased. We finished the baby shower decorations for the presents table by putting a large stuffed bear into the cradle. It is so much fun to decorating for a baby shower!

For the buffet table we had an arrangement of fresh-cut flowers from the local florist. She used silky pink carnations, baby's breathe and daisies for the display. We decided that no other baby shower festive decorations needed to be put on this table. We did have pink napkins that we set on this table, along with a cake that was ornamented with a stork holding a small doll in a pink frosting blanket.

We had also gotten a corsage for our niece and 1 for each of the new grandmothers to be. We felt that the room looked very good and we would not have to spend a decent deal of time cleaning up baby shower party decorations because they would all be sent home as presents to our niece.

We had a big turn out for the shower. My niece received quite a few very nice presents. She was glad that we had the shower in a space that was not cramped. As she progresses with the pregnancy she is feeling more claustrophobic. Within 30 moments after the baby shower party was over the fellowship section was cleaned and we were on our way home.
